A perspective shaped by experience
The Illinois Finance Authority provides access to capital to spur economic development across the state, supporting businesses, nonprofits, healthcare institutions and public entities. Mathis Posey said that her perspective is shaped by her work at Boys & Girls Clubs, where financial sustainability directly impacts services for children and families.
“Sound financial stewardship creates opportunity and stability in communities,” she said in the announcement. “That perspective will guide my service on the Authority.”
In addition to her role at Boys & Girls Clubs, Mathis Posey serves as vice chair of the City of Springfield Civil Service Commission, vice president of Downtown Springfield Inc., and a member of the Illinois Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs Board of Directors. She previously served as commissioner and vice chair of the Illinois Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service and has held board roles with Springfield Public Schools District 186.
Her appointment follows the conclusion of her term as a trustee of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.
“I look forward to working with my fellow board members and the IFA team to advance responsible financial practices and equitable economic growth across Illinois,” Mathis Posey said in the announcement.
