ALSIP, IL — State lawmakers will host a job and resource fair Thursday, Jan. 29. The fair runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Worth Township Center, 11601 S. Pulaski Road.

Job hunters will have the opportunity to meet and network with representatives from diverse industries, including healthcare, construction, IT and retail administration, transportation, warehousing and logistics, and social services and career resources.

The community job and resource fair is being organized by Rep. Michael Crawford (31st District), Rep. Rick Ryan (36th District) Rep. Mary Gill (35th District), and Sen Bill Cunningham (18th District), along with Worth Township Supervisor Patrica Joan Murphy, and the YWCA Metropolitan Chicago.

Ryan called the job fair “a vital service” giving attendees, regardless of their background or current circumstances, an ”equitable opportunity to connect directly with potential employers.”

“People deserve to have an opportunity to showcase their talents and skills,” the Evergreen Park lawmaker Ryan said. “Unfortunately, for many in our community, the path to employment can be hindered by a lack of resources, including access to job search tools, professional networking opportunities or even transportation to interviews.”
