SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (NEXSTAR) — The Illinois Auditor General released a report showing the state drastically overspent on a program to give non-citizens access to health care based on initial estimates.
The program was expanded to include people from 42 to 64 years old. That branch of the program ended up costing four times more than the original estimate.
Auditor General Frank Mautino joined Capitol Connection to discuss the findings of the report.
