AURORA, IL — Gov. J.B. Pritzker will be visiting Aurora to headline a voting rally Saturday.
The incumbent governor will be accompanied by his running mate for lieutenant governor, Juliana Stratton. The event, organized by the Kane County Democrats, will run from 1:30-3 p.m. at Painters Local 30, 1905 Sequoia Drive.
Schedueld to follow a labor walk from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the rally will support a get-out-the-vote drive and the Workers’ Rights Amendment, according to a news release. The public is invited to attend.
The visit is scheduled ahead of Tuesday’s General Election where Pritzker is seeking a second term as governor. Republican candidate Darren Bailey is looking to unseat him.
“Every one of us needs to cast a ballot and volunteer to defeat Darren Bailey and the far-right extremists plotting to ban abortion, eliminate the state’s minimum wage, and defund education,” reads a description of the event.
The Illinois governor was also in Aurora in September when he stopped by the Aurora Township Democrats Salute to Labor program, which focuses on honoring teachers and health care workers, according to reports from the Chicago Tribune.
