Mayor Kelly Burke with Evergreen Park residents on September 10 at 50-Acre Park.
In September, Mayor Kelly Burke encouraged residents of Evergreen Park and surrounding communities to join her for a Fall Fit City Challenge! She called on everyone to move, exercise, walk, etc. for at least 30 minutes a day.
Kelly’s Move with the Mayor is a collaboration with the National Forum for Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention. It is a national initiative that works with mayors across the country to challenge their communities to be more physically active. Mayor Burke is excited to participate in this initiative to encourage residents to be physically active to lower their chances of heart disease and its risk factors like high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and diabetes.
The Fall Fit City Challenge began in early September and runs through October 15.
