The City of Springfield is warning residents to be on the lookout for email phishing scams. City officials say some people have gotten emails using Mayor Jim Langfelder’s name or other city staff. City workers or leaders will never contact any resident for financial assistance. Everyone is encouraged to make sure any correspondence from the city is coming from an official city email address, and not another provider like Gmail. If you get any similar emails, you’re encourage to delete them.
