Springfield is unlikely to follow Chicago’s lead and start requiring proof of vaccination for patrons of bars, restaurants, and other indoor venues.
Appearing live on WMAY, Mayor Jim Langfelder says people can make their own choice when it comes to being vaccinated. But Langfelder continues to encourage city residents to get vaccinated and boosted, and to continue wearing masks for further protection against COVID-19.
The mayor gives the city an “A” grade for how it has handled the pandemic thus far.
