“It has a lot of positives for the village. One is of course tourism, and another is helping residents offset some of the property tax burden, which we know to be high. That’s beneficial and it helps them earn a little extra income, so that’s certainly a good thing for everyone,” said Trustee Jim Taglia. “And finally, it helps people come to Oak Park who may want to live here. They’re able to stay in the community, interact with the community and get a good idea of what it’s like to live here and hopefully buy a home. It’s really good for the vitality of Oak Park.”
