The Illinois Department of Revenue is reminding parents and guardians that they may be able to claim some of their back-to-school expenses on their taxes.
The state’s education expense credit lets parents or guardians of a student K-through-12 to take a 25-percent tax credit on qualified expenses over 250-dollars.
Expenses that qualify include books, tuition, and lab fees. For more details, log on at tax-dot-illinois-dot-gov.
