Mike Baker, a Schaumburg man who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2017, is urging Illinois lawmakers to speed up the long wait times on the Department of Human Services ‘Prioritization for Urgency of Need for Services’ (PUNS) list. He and his wife applied for services when their son Bryan was 12 years old. He waited for six years before he was finally allowed access to services.
