SPRINGFIELD/SOUTHERN ILLINOIS – Gov. JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Transportation recently announced the second of six $250 million grants to counties, municipalities and townships to address local transportation needs. Made possible thanks to the bipartisan Rebuild Illinois capital plan, the first infrastructure program in Illinois in nearly a decade and the largest in state history, the funding ensures continued investment in Illinois’ transportation systems and helps maintain safe and reliable infrastructure at the local level.

Among the list of projects, Williamson County will receive around $1.2 million, Jackson County will get about $1.1 million, Jefferson County will see around $950,000, Franklin County will get close to $857,000, almost $653,000 will go to White County, about $592,000 will be coming to Saline County and Hamilton County will receive close to $486,000.

The money has been divided between counties, townships, and municipalities for road projects in their respective communities.
