State Senator Rachelle Crowe (D-Glen Carbon) is congratulating two Metro East programs who have been awarded grant money to support adult literacy programs.

Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey will receive a $113,045 grant, and the Metro East Literacy Project in O’ Fallon will receive a $48,177 funding injection.

 

Adult literacy programs are targeted at adults who read below the 9th grade level or speak English at a beginning level. For those interested in becoming a volunteer tutor, contact the Illinois Adult Learning Hotline at 1-900-321-9511.
