The public celebration of St. Sen. Pat Welch’s life starts at 2pm Sunday, January 19 at Starved Rock Lodge. Welch died at age 71 earlier this month, 15 years after he left the legislature. He represented this area for 22 years.
There will be food and refreshments until 5pm. People who knew him will say things about Welch starting at 2:45pm. Welch’s friend Steve Massey is organizing the event.
