One Day of Rest Mandated in Illinois

Did you know that in Illinois, employers are required to give their employees a 24-hour period of rest and a 20-minute break, at least, for lunch for those working more than 7.5 hours in a day? Those are provisions of the new One Day Rest in Seven Act. The Illinois Department of Labor has launched a campaign to make workers aware of their rights.

Jason Keller, assistant Director of the Illinois Department of Labor, says employees are entitled to some form of rest to make sure they are not being overworked.
