State Sen. Michael Hastings will be hosting a 2020 legislative preview for constituents on Monday.
Hastings, D-Tinley Park, will host the event to provide an overview of the 2019 legislative session and veto session.
The general assembly had a busy year in 2019, increasing the minimum wage, legalizing recreational marijuana, investing $45 billion in infrastructure spending and legalizing sports gambling.
He will also discuss what the 2020 session may have in store and take questions from those in attendance.
Elected officials and activists across the political spectrum have pushed for further action on issues like ethics reform and investing in clean energy.
The event will be from 6 to 7 p.m. at the New Lenox Public Library, according to the senator’s Facebook page.

The 19th Senate District includes portions of Frankfort, Homer Glen, Joliet, Lockport, Mokena, New Lenox and University Park.
