One voice for impeachment comes from the office of … the Illinois comptroller.
Other than having cast a vote in the Illinois House in 2009 to impeach then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich, how is this Susana Mendoza’s turf?
“Well, I am an American citizen,” she answers. “I think the future of our country is at stake, so I believe that it’s important to have a role in educating the public that this isn’t the first time this has happened. It is the first time that we see country so divided on putting party before the country.”
Mendoza, who wrote an op-ed in the Chicago Tribune, says if Illinois Republican Congressmen can write a forceful letter telling the President to keep Blago in prison, they should weigh the evidence in the impeachment hearing impartially.
