Waukegan Mayor Sam Cunningham has been appointed by Gov. J.B. Pritzker to serve on the Offshore Wind Energy Economic Development Policy Task Force. Cunningham will serve as an advocate to help establish Illinois and the northern Lake County area as a hub for renewable energy generation. The task force is designed to bring together stakeholders to evaluate policy options for offshore wind energy development and to make recommendations for buying and integrating that wind power into the Illinois electric grid.
