Park Forest Legislative Breakfast
Park Forest will host a Legislative Breakfast on Dec. 12, 2019, at Freedom Hall.

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Properly titled, “The Changing Face of Retail Business: How It’s Affecting the Southland,” the Village of Park Forest and the Small Business Advisory Council will hold a legislative breakfast next Thursday morning, December 12, at Freedom Hall.

The event will be moderated by the Small Business Advisory Council and runs from 7:45 AM until 9:30 AM.

Local legislators confirmed for the discussion so far include State Representative Kelly M. Burke of the Illinois 36th District, State Representative Debbie Meyers-Martin of the Illinois 38th District, and newly-appointed Senator Patrick Joyce.

Rep. Burke’s district is north of Orland Park. Rep. Meyers-Martin’s district includes parts of Park Forest and was previously held by former State Rep. Al Riley. State Senator Patrick Joyce’s district includes Park Forest. Former State Sen. Toi Hutchinson held the seat until she resigned when Gov. J.B. Pritzker ” appointed Hutchinson Illinois Cannabis Regulation Oversight Officer, a role created by the Illinois Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act, to oversee the roll-out of the statewide legalization of recreational cannabis.” (Source)
