BENLD – Senior citizens from around Macoupin County joined State Senator Andy Manar (D-Bunker Hill) Wednesday for a free senior resource fair.
The event featured an opportunity for seniors to take advantage of free and discounted services from health care providers as well as state and local groups, such as health screenings and on-site drivers’ license renewals.
“In rural areas like Macoupin County seniors are often forced to drive dozens of miles to obtain the services they need,” Manar said. “These senior fairs allow us to bring all of these services to one convenient location, and that can help save these individuals both time and money.”
The event in Benld is the first of three senior fairs Manar is hosting this fall. The remaining senior fairs will be held in Taylorville and Decatur.
